Author Guidelines

Submission of Manuscripts

Manuscripts (papers, articles, book reviews, letters to the editor, announcements) for publication in the Research Bulletin have to be submitted online.

Formatting

Manuscripts should be as concise as possible (we recommend a length of 20,000-40,000 characters including spaces, font size 12 in MS-Word). Structuring in title, subtitle, etc. should be done via a number system (1, 2, 1.1, 2.1, max. 1.1.1) in order to support a consistent presentation of the magazine. All submissions must be spellchecked and edited so that later changes and elaborate proofreading are not necessary. The text must be written in MS Word, with no special formatting (running text) and no hyphenation. Manuscripts must be saved as .doc or .docx files.

Title and Synopsis

Authors provide the title of their article in German and English as well as a short abstract in German and English at the beginning of the article. The abstract should be no longer than 1500 characters, including spaces. We reserve the right to make linguistic corrections.

Keywords will be created by a member of the editorial team or by an authorized qualified member of the SFU staff.

References & Bibliography

Both must adhere to the current APA guidelines. http://www.apastyle.org

Figures and tables

Figures (photos, diagrams, drawings, sketches) must be sent as .jpg files (300dpi, original size). The consecutive numbering, placement, and the figure caption or -title are to be noted in the manuscript. Tables are to be saved as MS Word tables. You may either include them directly in the text or attach them as a separate document specifying the desired placement.

About the Author

The information about the author should be offered at the end of the manuscript and include academic degree, first and last name, address (institution), telephone number, and e-mail address. Please also attach a brief description of your current activities. If the text was written by multiple authors, a lead author must be declared. Information about the authors should be no longer than 300 characters, including spaces.

Legal Information for Authors
